The X-Sport BTH-11

by David Ponce

x-sport bth-11By David Ponce

While you will almost certainly always look like an asshole walking down the street with a Bluetooth headset attached to your ear, this doesn’t mean the devices don’t have their use. They certainly come in handy when you’re driving, or otherwise using both your hands, and if you’re going to be wearing one, then at least try to make it look half decent. We’ve highlighted the Jabra JX10 before, and now we bring you news of the X-SPORT BTH-11, from Teling Technology. We think it looks rather good, though we’re sure it’s only a matter of time until someone tells us we should get our eyes checked.

So, to sweeten the deal, the company claims this to be the only headset in the market with a range of 20 to 30 meters. This is quite a lot if you think about it, and unless you live in a mansion, means that you can walk around most of your home without carrying your cellphone on you.

Seems to be available for $90.

Update: Yeah, and it looks like it’s Australian only at this point.

Jacob Jensen Jabra JX10

jabra jacob jensen

By David Ponce

We’ve written about Jacon Jensen before. The dude has an eye for design, that’s for sure, and he applies his talent to all sorts of products, like doorbells and wireless phones. This time, it’s a Jabra Bluetooth headset, the JX10.

Yeah, yeah, it’s been out for a bit, but we missed it, and we thought you should see it. It takes a name like Jacob Jensen to take what other manufacturers are selling for $70, and charge $180 for it. That said, the features are solid, and if you’ve got that kind of cash, why not buy the best looking Bluetooth headset around?

Come inside for more pictures and a feature list.

Jacob Jensen T-6, Luxury Wireless Home Phone

by David Ponce

Designer Jacob Jensen makes all sorts of very sleek looking things for the home. We’ve already covered one of his products, the designer doorbell.

This time, it’s a wireless phone equipped with DECT technology, which stands for (for those of you not in the know, including me) “Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications Technology”. It would seem this makes things, uh, better. Anyhow…

Up to 6 cordless handsets can work together with a single base unit to perform the function of a telephone and intercom system with calls transfer between handsets and base unit. It has a long range of operation with digital call clarity and user-friendly driven functions.

In addition, its built-in caller ID decoder, caller ID memory for 30 incoming numbers, phone book for 40 pre set numbers, redial and redial list provide simple and convenient management of your telephone calls.

Not exactly technology to write home about, but combined with the look and the Jensen name, you can almost justify the $300 pricetag.

Jacob Jensen designer doorbell

by David Ponce

jacob_jensen_doorbell_feb05It’s sad that it would be ridiculous for me to want to own this. It would just be so completely out of place in my appartment. Perhaps when I richify myself and buy a nice house to match… Meanwhile, for my more affluent readers, you might be interested in this doorbell by designer Jacob Jensen, creator of a truly smokin’ (no pun intended) smoke alarm.

And it’s not a case of form over function, no no. See, it’s wireless for one. It features 5 high-quality polyphonic tunes. One of them is a recording of the designer himself knocking on the door. Very chichi. And one is for the hard of hearing (aka the ear piercer).

You have one chime, any number of bells (for which of course, you pay), joined wirelessly with a range of 150 meters. It’ll be out in early spring, and there’s no word on price.

Check it out.
