The ending to Inception is one of the most-debated movie endings of all time. Was Cobb still in a dream or was he back in reality? Will the top ever stop spinning or was it just about to fall over when the movie ended? While the Inceptor board game won’t provide any answers, it does play out similarly as it’s a board game within a board game.
Players are basically on a quest to plant a mission into the dreamer’s mind, which is known as the Mark in the game. Each player will have their own missions to plant, and whoever does it first wins. Other elements from the movie are also present in the game: the slowing of time as you move towards deeper dream levels, Mark’s subconscious that attacks and makes you lose a turn if you’re discovered, and of course, the Kick.
It’s a game that’s hard to explain but just think of Inception and what Cobb and his gang are doing, and you’ve got Inceptor in a nutshell.
Inceptor is currently up for funding on Kickstarter, where you can get the board game for a minimum pledge of $59.
