The thing about tattoos is that they’re permanent. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what some relationships, obsessions, and couplings are not. How many times have you read (and laughed) at stories of people who went and got tattoos of their significant others’ names or faces, only to cover these up or remove them when the relationship has come to an end? There are many other reasons why some people would opt to have their ink removed. However, this isn’t an issue at all for artist Anthony Antonellis and his digital tattoo.

What Anthony did was implant an RFID chip into his hand, in the fleshy part in between his thumb and forefinger. The chip has a KB of storage and is stored inside a glass tube. To most people, that area on his hand looks clean, with no tattoo or image whatsoever. However, hold a smartphone to his hand and you’ll see a GIF on the very spot where the implant was inserted.

Aside from the fact that it’s invisible most of the time, it’s also flexible because Anthony can change the image to whatever he wants to any time. Pretty neat, huh?
