Going out for drinks always means of thinking about a safe way to get back home. We wouldn’t suggest using this device to determine whether you’re legal for driving, just in case. But it’s also cool to see where things stand. It’s called the BACTrack Vio, is small enough to fit on a keychain and can tell you your blood alcohol level in seconds. We’ve been using it for the last few weeks, and I can attest that it works quite well. It has a small flip-out straw through which you blow, and the results are displayed on your smartphone. The app will tell you how long it should take you to sober up, as well as give you the ability to share your drunkenness level with your friends… if that’s your thing. It doesn’t use fuel cell technology, so it’s likely not as accurate as police-grade breathalyzers, but it’s still accurate enough for entertainment purposes. And it’s on special for $43 today, down from $50.
