The Grillo from FormAxiom is beautiful. At least, we think so. It’s a portable grill that uses a chainmail “fire hammock” to hold your burning coal or wood.
[Grillo uses a] flexible stainless-steel ring-mesh construction which is safe for any kind of solid fuel. The breathable texture allows for the fire to be ignited from underneath and can achieve a strong heat in a short amount of time. The surrounding tripod structure stays cool to touch.
With its slender folded form, the Grillo has numerous advantages over conventional barbecues. Not only is it easier to carry and store, but is even easier to clean. Simply hold the folded structure together, dip the cooking surface in water and scrub with a common cleaning brush.
Now comes the bad news. We don’t think you can buy Grillo. The website is from 2014, where the company invites you check out their prototypes at some exhibition in Italy. As a matter of fact, this grill made the rounds on the Internet back then, and a quick search today doesn’t reveal any way to actually purchase it. Which is a shame, really.
