Granted, if you’re going to want to be shooting some hoops in the comfort of your room, you’re probably not going to get a full size setup with a regulation ball; that’s just a recipe for some broken windows. But something like the Franklin Shoot Again system pictured above on the other hand would do nicely. It’s a lot like the games you play in carnivals or arcade parlours (remember those?), consisting of a foam ball and a plastic hoop. There’s a plastic elbow at the bottom that returns the ball to you, saving you the hassle of, you know, walking a bit. There’s an electronic scoring and time clock, with authentic announcer sounds. The return elbow even rotates 180 degrees so it’ll send the ball back at you from any angle.
That’s a pretty sweet $40 present for a someone that spends a lot of time in their room.
