If you’re looking for the ultimate home theater display and don’t mind having to deal with a few seams here and there, you might want to take a look at NEC’s new MultiSync X461UN displays. They’re specifically designed for use in large video walls, where a single LCD display is both impractical, and astronomically expensive. Each 46 inch unit features an ultra-narrow bezel which results in a screen-to-screen distance of just 7.3mm. And since you can combine up to 100 displays (10×10) in a single grid, that gives you a total screen area of about 645 square feet.

Each screen features a native resolution of 1366×768 (WXGA), a maximum brightness of 700 cd/m2 and a “typical” contrast ratio of 3000:1. And since nothing looks worse than a video wall with a different color tint on each display, there’s also an optional SpectraView II color calibration solution available which ensures “color uniformity and fidelity across individual and multiple screens, creating a perfectly matched image in tiled environments.” The MultiSync X461UN should be available sometime in April and has an estimated price tag of $6,000.

  1. If you are using this for advertising or in a night club why not just utilize a projection system? The majority of the public will never even know the difference (other than the lines on the multidisplay) so what's the reasoning behind it?

Why come out with things like this in an economy like this? No wonder companies are going under.

  2. U said “why and what's the reason behind it. well, first multisync displays cost less to manufacture in 4 configurations displays, compared to the whole entire screen like 108 inches diagonal. Most video wall used are consisting multiple displays to which narrow bezel is must to minimize the obstruction.

Projection however won't work in public display due to sunlight or any bright surroundings. or else, ur going to need black curtain surrounds the area in order to recognize the screen. Are u opt for that?

why come out things like this in our economy?..This is solely for business or government use mainly… Consumers like yourself can utilize for hometheater as well, but it cost more compared to the consumer displays of thesame size from bestbuy or any retailers around due to their extreme nature. Professional displays can endure or last longer cause they put more effort to it….
