Now I’m not the most water-friendly person and in fact I’ve never tried SCUBA diving but I still find this new mask from Oceanic pretty cool. Developed along with the U.S. Navy’s Coastal Systems Station the HUD mask has a miniature LCD panel which displays the diver’s depth, bottom time and cylinder pressure.

The HUD is particularly useful because being inside the mask means that no matter how murky the water may get those vital statistics are always clearly visisible to the diver. The mask is also wireless and information is sent to the HUD via a transmitter module that attaches to the regulator.

Now I wonder if a small LCD TV could be mounted in the mask instead that wirelessly communicates with a rear-pointing video camera so you can see what might be stalking you in the murky depths.
