Electronic Turkey (Image courtesy Electronix Express)By Andrew Liszewski

OGCC Day 15 (Image property of OhGizmo)Believe it or not I’ve actually spoken to some people who think that Thanksgiving is the only holiday where turkey should be enjoyed. Even Christmas gets excluded. If I had my choice not only would I eat turkey on every single holiday that existed but I’d be making up new ones just to have an excuse to eat it more often.

So for those who support turkey at Christmas why not celebrate the consuming of that delicious bird with a new holiday tradition for the kids in your family. Let’s face it, baking and decorating gingerbread men is far too 1800’s. Instead I suggest busting out that soldering iron and passing on some skills the kids might actually find useful some day.

This electronic turkey kit comes with a circuit board that’s pre-cut in the shape of a crude turkey plus all the other components needed to put it together. When it’s done the series of red LEDs lining the tail area will flash making this probably the best ornament on your tree. Apparently little to no knowledge of electronics is needed to put this kit together but since some soldering know-how is required it’s probably best to add a little parental supervision to this project.

The Electronic Turkey Kit is available from Electronix Express for $10.30.
