Sometimes, even the smallest of details make all the difference. Take these screws that are aptly called the Screw:), for example. They look just like your average screw except for the head, which has a smiley face imprinted right on it. That means conventional screwdrivers won’t work with it either, because you can’t exactly jam it into the smiley face’s eye to screw it in. Instead, you’ll need a custom screwdriver with a protruding smiley face to be able to screw the Screw:) in tightly.
The Screw:) was designed by Studio Yumakano in collaboration with Japan-based screw factory Komuro Manufacturing.
Now that’s carpentry with a huge dose of whimsy.
