Before the days of video projectors if you wanted to show off the photos from your recent trip to a group of friends you had to have slides specially made when your film was developed. You also needed a projector, a screen and a room full of people who really weren’t that interested. But now that video projectors and digital cameras have taken over the duty of boring your friends it seems slides are nothing but a nostalgia item for artists and furniture designers.
This Slide Projection Lamp is handcrafted in Lyon, France and uses precision ground lenses to bounce the light from the bulb through a slide and onto a reflector which results in the photo being projected onto the wall or ceiling. The focus and angle of projection can be adjusted by turning a couple of dials and in theory you can make the projected image as large as you want depending on where you aim the reflector. If the image ends up being too dark though just screw in one of those bulbs they use in the IMAX projectors. Problem solved.
