I’m all for taking an innovative approach to computer mice when the designer puts function over form but I disagree when the looks of the hardware adversely effect the user’s experience. The VGP-BMS30 wireless mouse from Sony doesn’t stray too far from the traditional design but has just enough unique styling to make you stand out.

It can wirelessly connect to any PC or laptop with a bluetooth connection (Ver 1.2) and has a range of about 10 meters which is more than enough for anyone’s mousing needs. It also has an “innovative” PTFE sole making it easier to slide around preventing wrist strain. What’s PTFE you ask? Well I was wondering the same thing so after a little research I discovered it was short for ‘Polytetrafluoroethylene’ which is better known to the public as Teflon. Unfortunately it seems if you’re not DuPont you have to refer to it by its less obvious chemical name.

The Sony VGP-BMS30 is available from AudioCubes for $85.
