Cities are getting more overcrowded by the minute. That means increased rent, smaller spaces, and more cramped apartments all throughout. It’s probably with this in mind that inspired Dutch design studio Mieke Meijer to come up with this four-in-one piece of furniture, as it combines a staircase, storage shelves, a cupboard, and even a desk.
The work was commissioned by designer Just Haasnoot and it’s definitely a huge space-saver, I’ll give it that. While it’s not the safest staircase in the world (no handrails and it’s pretty narrow), it makes the most out of limited space that plain old staircases typically occupy.
