Why sit around in a boring sauna with people you don’t know when you can enjoy the same type of relaxation in the comfort of your own home? The Solo from Sunlight Saunas is a relatively portable personal sauna that can be set up on any flat surface like the floor or a well-supported table. I say ‘relatively’ portable because the sauna uses 2 domes that are easy to carry but are actually rigid structures so they won’t be collapsing down to fit into any type of carrying case.

The domes use built-in infrared heaters that are regulated by a 9-setting constant emitter control system that ensures the heaters are running 100% of the time. It’s also recommended that you use the The Solo with The Solopad (sold seperately) which from what I can tell is just a thin mattress designed to deal with all your sweat as opposed to just letting it soak into the carpet. And besides the convenience factor for people too lazy to go to the gym the Solo is particularly useful for massage therapists with clients who are unable to leave their homes due to illness or injury.

  1. Hmmm, I don’t know. Somehow it just looks really awful compared to a real sauna. The sauna is not so much about just the heat, but also the ventilation, being down to earth (the connection with wood, warmth, water), comfort without crawling and so on.

It is an alternative, but it is not significantly better than the sauna belt or some other gadget advertised on the TV shop 🙂

Sounds like yet another pale representative of a true sauna 🙂

  2. I’ve tried one of these things before at the doctor’s office that I use to work in and let me tell you…I LOVED IT! It was so relaxing yet at the same time benificial to my health and also helped with weight loss. If you are thinking about getting one of these…you will not be disappointed.
