USB Security Lock (Image courtesy ThinkGeek)By Andrew Liszewski

At one point the popularity of USB flash drives and portable music players led to some mild hysteria in the corporate world about employees using them to steal confidential materials from the company. That led to devices like this being created.

The USB Security Lock works by placing a slightly smaller blocker inside the USB ports of the computer you’re trying to protect preventing a USB cable or flash drive from being connected. Thankfully once they’re inserted there’s absolutely no other way to get a file on or off a computer so you’ll have the peace of mind of knowing your files are completely protected.

Also the blockers can only be removed through the use of a special tool which only you and anyone else with $9.99 can buy directly from ThinkGeek.

LOL… Yeah, I also thought it was a stroke of genius that they also provided a readily available, non-user specifc tool with which anyone with $10 in their pocket can circumvent the security…
