I really have no idea how I’d use this FLIR thermal imaging system that’s currently up for bid on eBay, but were I to win this auction, you’d better believe I’d find a use for it. The FLIR units apparently came from a “major federal government agnecy” who recently performed a fleet wide upgrade, and include the gyroscopic stabilizing systems designed to keep the camera’s motion steady, even while the plane or helicopter they’re mounted to is bouncing around in the air. But I’m sure the system would be just as effective strapped to the hood of my ’82 Buick Skylark… In fact I’m counting on it since my helicopter’s been in the shop these past few weeks. You know how it is. Thankfully no one’s made a bid on the unit just yet, so I might be able to pick it up for the $40,000 ‘Buy It Now’ price. At least it comes with free shipping!
