The microwave oven changed the way a lot of us cook at home (or don’t cook to be more exact) and now the WaveBox promises the same revolution in food preparation wherever you are. It’s a portable microwave oven that’s roughly the same size as a small cooler, and since it can be powered by either a standard AC outlet, the 12-volt DC outlet in your vehicle, or hooked directly to a car battery, it can be used almost anywhere.

A built-in carrying handle makes transporting the 14 lb oven a breeze, and even though it’s compact in size, it still has all the features you’d find on a regular sized microwave like preset cook buttons and even an LED display. In fact the only thing that’s missing is a window on the door which could lead to the occasional burned meal. At $249.99 the WaveBox isn’t terribly expensive either, particularly when you consider that microwaveable dinners are a far cheaper alternative to dining out at restaurants every day if you’re on the road a lot.
