Not-being-lost is a nice feeling. It sure beats the pretending-to-know-where-you-are-until-the-wife-punches-sense-into-you feeling. And, to help you keep your bearings with the use of your cellphone, Yamaha has announced the development of the YAS529 three-axis Geomagnetic Sensor IC Chip, also known as a compass. It measures 2mm by 2mm by 1mm. The WAS529 would help you, for instance, ensure that the map you’re looking at is oriented properly.
The company plans to start shipping samples sometime in October.
