Compucars, Sportscar Shaped PC

Well, hell, it’s gonna look funny when you plug all the cables in, but until you do, I’ve got to say that these are the slickest looking computers I’ve seen in a while. Company Compucars specializes in making PCs that look like four-wheeled mid-life-crisis-mobiles.

These babies, though expensive as all hell in a jar, are actually packed with some somewhat serious punch. Take these specs for the Viper as an example:

Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHZ Prescott processor
40GB SATA HDD
512MB DDRII 533MHZ RAM
Slim Line Slot Load CD-RW/DVD
4 USB 2.0 Ports
2 IEEE 1394 Ports (Firewire)

As you can see in the picture, all the connections are made via the driver’s side door, so you could presumably put this in a shelf someplace and make your PC look like art or something.

And well, no, the cars don’t seem to actually seem to be mobile, so this schtick is only for the looks. And at $1750, it’s a hefty chunk to pay for a computer that looks like a car. But who’s counting, right?

  1. Hi Bruce, thanks for your comment. Not sure that I like what you seem to be insinuating. Just so you know, it does happen, quite often, that tips get sent this way. And unless the tipster wants credit, there won’t be any source. You could, of course, ask TRFJ where they got the story…
