We’re not entirely certain that the Sandio 3DGameO’ Mouse isn’t trying to solve a problem that doesn’t really exist. By attaching two ear-like buttons on the sides of the mouse, the company hopes to add comprehensive 3D manipulation capabilities right in. This would then allow you to rotate objects through all six axes, simply by combining button presses and freeing you from the keyboard altogether. This sort of ability could come in handy when using Google Earth, or playing games. At $80, it doesn’t seem like that bad of a deal. But that’s until you realize just how steep the learning curve seems to be.

Andre Bermudez from Gearlog takes the mouse out for a spin, and while he comes out somewhat impressed by its abilities, does not fail to note the difficulty of use, and the limited applicability.

OhGizmo’s suggestion to Sandio: find a nicer name for your barely useful products. Please.
