Well now you can have just that, without the need for a plug-in adapter. Check out this TruePower UCS power socket. It uses the same connections as your existing outlets, so it’s just a matter of swapping one out for the other.
At $10 a pop, it might be worthwhile to invest in a couple. Unfortunately you’ll have to wait until sometime next year for it to ship.
