The last time I visited one of those large arcades, you know the kind with simulators and games that require you to actually play sports I ended up spending half my time with an arcade bowling game not unlike this one. While there are plenty of PC and console based bowling games available there was just something about virtual bowling with a large trackball that made it pretty addictive.
I was excited to see that such an arcade game was now within my grasp thanks to the good people at Hammacher Schlemmer. (Who else really?) The version they’re selling comes with 6 different games, realistic ball physics, automatic scoring, a slow motion replay option and of course the all important trackball. It also includes a built-in jukebox stocked with 30 different songs from the 50s era like Little Richard singing Tutti Frutti. Hopefully that feature can be disabled.
Of course I got less excited when I saw that Hammacher Schlemmer was selling the arcade bowling game for a whopping $6,999.95.
