For everything Brian The Brain is capable of I think his creators should have spent a bit more time coming up with a friendlier design than a disembodied see-through brain. You see besides incorporating the concise Encyclopedia Britannica, a dictionary, a world history timeline and a wide conversational vocabulary Brian also uses speech recognition technology to answer any questions you ask him. (Or you can also use a small keyboard.)
Brian can even store a database of phone numbers and when connected to a phone line he’ll automatically dial your friends just by asking. He’s also chock full of other functions like trivia games, calendars and even an MP3 player when you get tired of learning stuff. I have to admit I was all for this crazy gadget until I read the ‘connects to a phone line’ part which will in theory allow your Brian to talk to other Brians all over the world and plot their inevitable overthrow of mankind.
So if you want to be part of the destruction of human civilization then by all means get your own Brian The Brain from Hammacher Schlemmer for $119.95.
