If you live in a temperate climate, you probably spend most of your time being either just a little bit too hot or a little bit too cold. The ChiliPad mattress is unique in that it’s capable of both heating and cooling itself, allowing you to set the perfect temperature to fall asleep (or, you know, not) to. The ChiliPad uses a small, nearly silent motor “similar to the semi-conductor technology that cools your computer” to either heat or cool water, which is then pumped through coils inside the mattress. You can control the temperature between 68F and 118F plus or minus 1 degree with a wireless remote. The ChiliPad isn’t cheap, costing $479 for a single zone twin and $999 for a dual zone king, but the idea is that you’ll save enough money on nighttime heating and cooling costs to make it worthwhile. I’m not sure I believe that, but it would definitely be nice to stop having to look for the cool side of the pillow in the middle of the summer.
