HB-ring-by-the-touch

Being in a long distance relationship must suck, but we think it sucks a lot less now in the Information Age than it did back when you had to send a freaking letter by boat. Imagine waiting one month for a reply? Anyway, one of the things you can now do to make yourself feel physically closer to your loved one is to purchase these rings. Called HB rings, they pair with your smartphone and feature a heartbeat sensor. That information is then shared over the Internet, and reproduced on the matching ring, through tiny pulsations, so that each wearer can feel the heartbeat of their significant other no matter where in the world they are. It’s not like the ring beats non-stop either, you have to tap it to feel the heartbeat and your partner won’t be notified each time, so you can be as creepy as you want without scaring them off. There’s also a function that randomly initiates the pulsations, reminding you that your love is alive. Each ring is coated in sapphire which makes them scratch resistant and water proof, and the battery is rated to last 160 hours on standby and 14 hours while active. It’s a cool product, but it’s also one of those pre-production crowdfunded campaigns where you’re not 100% sure you’ll get what’s on the pictures. It’ll cost you $599 for a stainless steel version, and $2,990 for an 18K Rose Gold edition to find out. Shipping is slated to start in December 2017.
