If you want to heat up some water for tea or whatever, you’ve got quite a few options. From zapping it in the microwave, to putting it in an electric kettle, not to speak of a simple pot on the stovetop. Well, now you could add Miito to the mix, which is a strange device that uses a heating rod and electromagnetic induction to get your liquids up to temp. You just place the liquid you need in a non-ferrous container (glass, for instance), place the heating rod inside, and press a button. An electromagnetic current will heat the rod, which in turn will get a 200ml cup of water to a boil in as little as 60 seconds. There’s very little waste since you’re only heating the water you need, and it works with any liquid like soups, or milk.

We’re not sure it’s entirely worth the $101 (90 Euros) asking price, considering a similarly priced microwave will get you the same results. But if you think of it as a talking piece, perhaps it’s not that bad.
