This is an iPhone case that makes messaging less, not more, efficient. The SMS, by artist/hacker Dennis DeBel, stands for “Smoke Messaging System” and it uses a rather bulky oil vaporizer to generate wisps of smoke on command. You then record these “signals” on the rear facing camera and send the video over to your friends for interpretation. We suppose that if you want to communicate secretly, in a made up smoke signal system, this is the thing for you. But the problem is it’s not a real product, only something of a prototype that has no real plans for commercialization.
