Here’s an interesting mod that involves converting a large Eveready flashlight into a portable iPod ‘boombox.’ The flashlight itself is completely stripped out including the bulb assembly which gets replaced by a 4-inch MagnaDyne speaker.
An iPod Mini handles the music playback and using an AirClick remote can be controlled when the flashlight is sealed up. The last piece of the puzzle is a simple amplifier salvaged from an old set of PC speakers that is powered by a single 9-volt battery. While there’s no real detailed instructions provided on how to assemble all the parts this photo makes it pretty obvious how it should all go together.
