Original Nokia 3310 and Nokia 3310 (2017) – Image by xeetechcare

Ever miss the days when smartphones weren’t so smart? Sure, having a world of information in our pockets is great, but there was a time where you had to be alone with your thoughts, you couldn’t just open Facebook to avoid making eye contact with anyone while waiting for your coffee at Starbucks.

I think that’s part of the reason people are so nostalgic for the Nokia 3310. The screen size didn’t matter, the processor didn’t matter, the camera didn’t matter, it was as basic as possible, but it was the perfect phone for that simpler time.

So, I can’t blame Nokia for wanting to cash in with the new 3310. It’s based on the original, but has some updated features, almost as if Nokia had made the 3310 today. The new version features a color display, a 2MP shooter, 3G and 16GB onboard storage, all of which were not on the original 3310.

It’s a neat looking phone and at $60, it actually might not be bad for emergencies. Part of me wishes I could drop my smartphone and just start using this, but I know I’m weak, but hey, so is everyone else.

And don’t worry, it comes with snake.
