Give You Pumpkins A Little Extra Bite With Fake Fangs

If you’re worried that your pumpkin looks a little more goofy than intended now you can turn up the spook factor with razor sharp vampire-like teeth. They’re little pieces of plastic that, as you’d expect, and can be embedded into your pumpkin to make it look much scarier. They come with large, medium and small teeth, but mark my words, the smallest pumpkins with giant fangs will be the most nightmare-inducing.

They’re available on Etsy for $7 for 3 sets of teeth. But what do you do once Halloweens over, I guess you could always stick some teeth into your fruit bowl and have the orange look like it’s eating the banana, that’s pretty scary.

The NoPhone Air vs iPhone 8

If you’re starting to get fatigue with all these new smartphones coming out every month, then maybe it’s time to upgrade just one more time, to the NoPhone Air. The NoPhone Air is a revolutionary product that combines the convenience of an iPhone with the flexibility of the air that surrounds us. Let’s see how it stack up against the new iPhone 8.

  • NoPhone Air doesn’t need to be charged. iPhone 8 needs to be charged several times per week.
  • NoPhone Air can never be broken. iPhone 8 can’t even survive a fall off of a skyscraper.
  • iPhone 8 weighs more than 1,000,000 times more than the NoPhone Air.
  • iPhone 8 locks you into a long and pricey contract. NoPhone Air is a no-contract device.
  • iPhone 8 has no 3.5mm headphone jack, but neither does the NoPhone Air. This one’s a draw.

As you can clearly tell, the NoPhone Air is geared to bring serious competition into the smartphone wars, and it’s coming in guns-blazing. Sure, there are some features we’d like to see in the future, like a screen, camera, buttons or body, but for $6 you really shouldn’t expect more than a plastic package with a pocket of air.

This Book Features The Worst Comic Book Supervillains of All-Time

What’s the best aspect of old 60’s and 70’s comic books, it’s not the campy writing, identical art styles, or bright colors, it’s the terrible superpowered characters with no originality or creatively at all (I thought everyone was doing acid?).

Well, now’s your chance to own some of comic history’s most unforgettable forgettable supervillains! Featuring such villains as Doctor Voodoo, The Horrible Hand, and Bloor, who could forget Bloor! The book also features some of comic’s most obvious and awful knockoff characters such as The Clown, Cat Girl, and my favorite, BrickBat, a knockoff of Batman that uses bricks to solve his problems. I smell a movie franchise, oh wait, the cat box needs changing.

It’s available now on Amazon for $16, and would make a perfect gift for that friend who thinks old comics are the best ones.

Fitly is a Backpack You Can Wear While Running

If you’ve ever tried running, you know how hard it is to keep simple things in your pocket. Keys and wallets flop around like crazy, and phones are another story altogether, most people end up buying an armband to keep them phone safe.

Bringing a back pack would be nice, but they’re too heavy and loose to use, but Fitly is different. It’s a minimalist backpack with small pockets to hold things tight against your body while running. Its adjustable strap, which sits right under the chest, is what allows the Fitly to firmly stay in place and its gentle stretching pockets prevent your belongings from bouncing around. It’s great for those keys, a card or two and maybe even a nutrition bar, and lets you run without worrying that your stuff will fall out of your pockets.

It’s available on Kickstarter for $69 and seem like a great idea for most serious runners. Great, now I need a new excuse for why I can’t go running.

Amazon Key Lets Couriers Open You Front Door To Leave A Package

Amazon has gotten really good at this whole delivery thing. With their Prime 2-day shipping, same day shipping in some cities, and their famous $25 order gets free shipping deal, but now they’re trying to make it safer for that new iPad you ordered.

Their new service, Amazon Key, allows users who have both Amazon Cloud Cam and a Smart Lock to opt-in to a program which allows couriers to scan your package and sent the data to Amazon’s servers. If everything checks out, Amazon will unlock the door, allowing them to open it and leave you package inside your house.

I don’t know if I want a stranger to have access to my house. He might start cruising around and scope out all my valuables, if I had any, or gawking at pictures of my loved ones, again, if I had any.

If you have a lot of trust in Amazon, and want to keep your packages safe, maybe you’re into it. But, next thing you know, the UPS guy is taking longer to finish his routes and comes back rocking a pair of  Yeezy’s, a new iPad and a Labrador-Schnauzer named Han Solo.

Introducing: Why-Tech Wednesday

We’ve all seen those products that make us scratch our head, I’ve written about some of them myself. It’s as though companies have an idea and spend thousands of dollars making it into a real product before they ask if it’s even a good idea.

In this new feature at OhGizmo! we’ll take a look at new products, sometimes tech, sometimes apparel, sometimes the undefinable, and ask the question, ‘Why is this a thing?’

There’s a lot of tech out there, and someone has to go through and filter out the sludge. So every Wednesday, I’ll be your Why-Tech Guide, searching the internet for the latest tech offerings that don’t offer much, those overpriced underwhelming products, the high-tech/why-techs.

Why-Tech Wednesday: Flatev Can Make Fresh Tortillas Like Kuerig Makes Coffee, But It’s Not Worth $199

For this first installment of Why-Tech Wednesday, I want to go back a bit to last year, to the first product that has been stuck in my mind like a bad tumor. It’s an appliance that uses dough pods to produce fresh tortillas, it’s the Flatev.

It’s a simple concept, but suffers from an unreasonable design, high price, continuous cost and poor concept. Let’s start with that, the concept, because as appealing as a fresh tortilla sounds, there’s no real benefit as opposed to store-bought tortillas. They may taste a little bit better, but at that point, you might as well make your own.

Nokia’s Revised 3310 is Now Available in The US For $60

Original Nokia 3310 and Nokia 3310 (2017) – Image by xeetechcare

Ever miss the days when smartphones weren’t so smart? Sure, having a world of information in our pockets is great, but there was a time where you had to be alone with your thoughts, you couldn’t just open Facebook to avoid making eye contact with anyone while waiting for your coffee at Starbucks.

I think that’s part of the reason people are so nostalgic for the Nokia 3310. The screen size didn’t matter, the processor didn’t matter, the camera didn’t matter, it was as basic as possible, but it was the perfect phone for that simpler time.

So, I can’t blame Nokia for wanting to cash in with the new 3310. It’s based on the original, but has some updated features, almost as if Nokia had made the 3310 today. The new version features a color display, a 2MP shooter, 3G and 16GB onboard storage, all of which were not on the original 3310.

It’s a neat looking phone and at $60, it actually might not be bad for emergencies. Part of me wishes I could drop my smartphone and just start using this, but I know I’m weak, but hey, so is everyone else.

And don’t worry, it comes with snake.
